Abali piste is the first ski resort in Iran, it was built in 1953, the first ski slope to install mechanical ski lifts in the country near capital city Tehran.

This small piste is the birthplace of modern ski and the base of winter sport in Iran, its slopes are suitable for beginner skiers.. Ab Ali (Āb Alī Ski Area) is notably different to other Iranian ski resorts on account of the non-skiing interests.
It has a training site with skilled coaches giving good opportunity for newcomers to learn ski. Located 70 Km NE of Tehran on the Haraze Road, it is the closest ski piste to Damavand.
Abali is in a touristic zones with a cool temp in summer which offers some wonderful non-skiing interests such as hiking & trekking, climbing and thermal spring water, the beautiful Mosha Village with lots of villas, many traditional restaurants and recreational facilities, making this region much unique from other ski fields in IranSkiing at Ab Ali is from late December to mid-March.
